Stability is key to build nurturing relationships between children and staff and to make the children feel part of the tribe
- Elisabeth, Teacher
Our team
We have a highly trained and dedicated team. We see our role as enabling young children to develop trust in themselves and others. So, stability is essential in order to build these nurturing and caring relationships between children and staff and between the children themselves.

Genevieve
Head Teacher
I have over 18 years of experience working in early years education, with a background that includes Ofsted inspection, academic lecturing, leadership, consultancy, teaching, and mentoring. This breadth of experience shapes how I lead and supports a thoughtful, reflective approach to practice, always with children’s learning and well-being at the centre.
I hold a Master’s degree in Education and lead with a holistic, child-centred philosophy inspired by Scandinavian early years pedagogy. I am particularly passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, curious, and confident to explore, laying strong foundations for lifelong learning.
As Head Teacher, I balance strategic leadership with a hands-on presence in the setting, working closely with staff, children, and families to ensure high standards of care, inclusion, and educational quality across all areas of practice.
Martine
Deputy Head Teacher
I moved from Norway and started working in The Norwegian Kindergarten in September 2023. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education and went to Norwegian University of Science and Technology for my masters where I studied Education and Upbringing.
I am naturally a curious person, and I bring my curiosity into the kindergarten where I enjoy encouraging the children’s creativity by incorporating their interest into arts, crafts, and conversations - allowing their passions to shape engaging and meaningful experiences.
I strive to be a comforting presence for the children in our kindergarten, prioritising their sense of safety and well-being, and fostering an environment where they feel secure and supported.
Rebecca
Early years teacher and SENCo
I have worked in education for over 25 years, a journey that began as my own children were growing and sparked a deep passion for supporting young learners in their earliest years. I have a degree in Early Years Education and Childcare, and have worked with children from babies through to primary age, including time as a Reception Class teacher.
I have taught in specialist, state and independent schools, gaining extensive experience supporting children with learning differences. I am passionate about creating warm, playful learning environments where children feel safe to explore, imagine and grow- an approach that closely reflects the Norwegian philosophy of learning through play and connection.
Elisabeth
Teacher
I'm a primary teacher from Norway, and I've proudly served as a dedicated member of the Norwegian Kindergarten team for six years. I also hold an early year’s education degree from Montessori Centre International in London. Recently, I completed further studies with a degree in "Videreutdanning: Norsk 1 for 1.-7. trinn", enhancing my expertise in Norwegian language education.
I am responsible for the preschool group where we focus on play-based learning activities that prepare the children for school. At our kindergarten, we prioritize recognizing and nurturing each child's unique abilities. We are committed to observing and supporting children with diverse needs, ensuring they are well-prepared for both the British and Norwegian school systems.
In addition to my role at the kindergarten, I manage my own Instagram account where I share our activities and connect with educators worldwide. I am particularly passionate about creative projects and integrating nature into learning experiences. One of my favourite spots is Wimbledon Common, where I love exploring trees and encountering the delightful Wombles.
